Tayla Jentzsch finish second at the Central Linn Invitational Saturday. Kat had an injury in training Thursday, but should be back in action soon. The Elmira/Crow team placed 5th overall.

Crow MS wrestlers went 4-4 Wednesday in a home dual with Lowell.  North Eugene and Willamette also attended. Captain Colton Nevins wrestled off his back to pin his opponent in a dramatic come from behind victory.  Zane Clemmer earned a tough 4-1 decision over his Lowell opponent. Ryan Pew pinned both of his quality opponents showing the skills of an experience wrestler. No opponent dared to face Gage Cooper this time!

In K-8 action at Mohawk Friday night 7 Crow wrestlers showed up ready to wrestle. Colt Miller showed poise and skill winning first place. Ethan Mathews chain wrestled like a HS wrestler and also placed first. Ryan Pew wrestled out of his mind, learning in 2 close decisions to top ranked State wrestlers.

Sunday the K-8 wrestlers capped off a great week of wrestling at North Eugene HS in an Orway tournament. 10 Crow wrestlers attended.  Colt Miller hammered the competition winning his second championship of the week. Levi Betts showed his intelligence and effort winning a championship as well. Ethan Mathews continued his pursuit of a college scholarship in a dominant first place finish also. Cole Herbison finished a close 2nd in his bracket.  Sam Betts had 2 victories finishing 3rd in the toughest bracket at the tournament. Tyson Casto placed 3rd, but was first place in hugging opponents.  Eli Ott and Drew Johnson wrestled tough, also placing 3rd.

Our Cougar wrestlers continue to work hard and show great sportsmanship.  They represent our whole community with dignity and respect. Go Cougars!
