C-A-L SD Public Listening Sessions scheduled

In November of 2019, the Crow-Applegate-Lorane School District invited students, families, and the public at-large to participate in an online survey to help the District formulate a Continuous Improvement Plan with Oregon’s Department of Education.

A draft of that plan was submitted to ODE on December 5, 2019. The draft has received ODE approval as a work in progress.

As the District narrows down the target list for this funding, additional public comment is critical to dig a little deeper on the sentiments behind the responses to the online survey.

Two opportunities for public comment have been scheduled for this purpose. The first will be held January 30, 2020 at 6:00pm in the Applegate Boardroom. The second will be conducted at the Lorane Grange on February 13, 2020 at 6:00pm.

Seating is limited to 24 participants at each site. A student and staff facilitator will guide small groups of 4-6 people in a café-style conversation. Sub sandwiches, chips, and beverages will be provided.

If you wish to participate, please call Donna in the District Office at 541-935-2100 and tell her your preferred location and how many seats you’ll want.

The revised plans will be presented to the Board of Directors at the March 19, 2020 meeting (Lorane Grange) for final approval before they are submitted to the State in advance of the April 15, 2020 deadline.
