The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) issued updated mask guidance in response to changes from the Oregon Health Authority (OHA).
The update permits schools to adjust mask requirements while continuing to follow the substance of ODE’s guidance.
Crow-Applegate-Lorane School District administration has considered input from ODE, team coaches, other Lane County school districts, and the Lane County Basketball Officials Association regarding mask requirements at indoor athletic events.
At this time, Crow High School basketball players, coaches, game officials, and spectators are expected to wear masks at all games – both home and away.
In considering how to address this issue, we could not identify a compelling justification for singling out (or giving preferential treatment to) individuals based on vaccination status.
Given the relatively short duration of the basketball season, we intend to maintain the status quo, and our teams are committed to honor this decision in solidarity with one another.
Crow wrestlers will follow the rules established in the co-op agreement with Elmira High School.
