CMHS operating status will not change unless we have in-school transmission. Please see the advisory Metric Legend explanation (in yellow) and in the blue box at the bottom of the page. Schools should not reduce in-person instruction or revert to distance learning as long as we can demonstrate the ability to limit transmission in the school environment.
Students, families, and staff play the most important roles in helping our schools stay open by wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and staying home if sick.
The school metric and our operating status are not governed by the Oregon Health Authority’s Sector Risk Level Guidance for the general population.
CAL Schools will continue to maintain current operating status even if Lane County moves into the Extreme Risk category as long as there is no in-school COVID-19 transmission.
