Applegate Elementary will be open as usual despite a dryer fire Tuesday night. Staff limited the fire to the dryer, but smoke permeated the building. The fire marshal declares the school safe, but parents should exercise care with children who are sensitive to airborne irritants.

The HS Boys Basketball team defeated Eddyville 41-39 last night in the 2nd round of the playoffs. They now advance to the league tournament @ Harrisburg on Saturday for a 12:30 game vs. Mapleton. A win will send them to state. Go Cougs!
